Resources

I thought it would be helpful to include a resources page to help most of the programs I use in one place. I’ll update it as needed and reference it in future posts.

Disclosure:  Please note that some of the links below are affiliate links, and at no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you decide to make a purchase.  I recommend them because they are helpful and useful, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy something.  Please do not spend any money on these products unless you feel you need them or that they will help you achieve your goals.

Hostgator:

Hostgator offers so much for such an affordable price. They have unlimited hosting for multiple domains, unlimited bandwidth and they offer the Fantastico uploader for WordPress hosting. It makes it quick and easier to start a WordPress blog. I also like that they allow monthly payments instead of annual.

Elegant Themes:

Elegant Themes currently offers 87  themes for a low annual fee. Each theme has video and written documentation for each set up. I use the Minimal theme on this blog, but I’ve also used their new Divi theme. It’s one of the most functional as well as easily customizable themes I’ve ever used.

GoDaddy for Domain Names:

I use GoDaddy for all of my domain name purchases. It’s easy to do and there’s ALWAYS a discount count to be found somewhere. I like having all of my domain names in one place and at affordable rates. I can also purchase expired domains names here using GoDaddy auctions.

MailChimp:

It’s important for anyone doing business online to have a mailing list. I love MailChimp because it’s easy to use, I can have multiple lists under one sign up, the site is intuitive and their videos make it easy to create a list and a campaign. They offer free and paid accounts.

WordPress:

This is the self-hosted version of WordPress, located at WordPress.org. The software is free and comes with many free themes to customize your site. WordPress has awesome support and is the #1 blogging software.

BizXpress PlugIn from SiteSell:

I love the SBI program from SiteSell. I have a niche site built on SBI and it’s started me out on this journey where I feel more confident to transition to WordPress and other types of website building. But the truth remains that WordPress is a platform – not a business. BizXpress gives a complete action for turning your WordPress site into a true online business.
