BOLO (Be on the Lookout) Clothing for Ebay

We are moving! It’s a good thing, but while we’re packing and cleaning I’m sharing posts from archives. This post was originally published on July 15, 2014.

Clothing on Ebay can be pretty hit or miss. Right now I’m primarily selling clothing out of my own closet – things that I can no longer wear or no longer want to wear. But we did hit on a neat brand recently from a thrift store purchase. I’ve also been following a couple of other clothing sellers on eBay that do very well. I’ve used a lot of their information to make my listings and photographs much better than they were.

Scott and I found these shirts – Reyn Spooner Classics –  at a local thrift store. We took a chance and spent more than we typically would have on shirts, but knowing that eBay buyers are usually looking for the rare and unusual, we bought them. And I’m glad we did, because they sold the day after listing for four times what we spent.

These are definitely now a BOLO for us and we’ll keep looking for them when we visit the different stores in our area.

My new plan for clothing, though, is to sell them in lots. For example, I have a lot of tops that I’m ready to let go of as part of my 100 things challenge. Since they’re all about the same size, I plan to list them all in a lot and sell them all at once instead of individually. This will cut my time down on listing, lower my eBay fees, and the buyer will be able to get a group of tops for one price instead of buying them separately and paying shipping for each purchase.
