Ebay’s Ultimate Listing Challenge Moves Into Final Week

We’re continuing to prepare for Q4 by listing as much as possible and moving it to a daily challenge. Our $375 week is $62.50 a day for 6 days. I beat that yesterday by listing $110.

We’re moving now into some Christmas things and some old homeschooling books we found mixed among our son’s things. We’re moving some stuff to a storage unit deciding what to sort and list as well. Right now, the goal is to the list the most expensive items possible that we currently have.

The idea is that if we list 3x what we want to make ($500 gross x  3 =$1500/4 = $375 week) then we should gross that much by the end of the month. The month isn’t over yet, but so far we’ve listed $860 and sold $100. With that math process, we should have sold $286. But many people are saying sales are slow, though, so we’re going to keep trying.

By the time you read this we’ll be moving into week 4 and I’ll have a recap of our listing challenge numbers on October 7. Hopefully they will be better than $100, but if not, I’m happy with the work that was done. A lot of stuff was listed, a lot of clutter was cleared out of the house and organized, packed and placed into storage, and we’ll be ready to move into October knowing we’re ready for Christmas.

At this writing, we have 106 active listings on eBay. I said I wanted 500 by the end of the year, but I’m changing that because it doesn’t matter how many listings you have. What really matters is what price the items are listed at. I’m making sure that my prices are fair and reasonable and I want to offer a good value and good eBay experience.

You can still join the Ultimate Listing Challenge, start an eBay business and get valuable support from the Facebook group.

Do you sell on eBay? How has your 2014 been going? Let me know in the comments or get in touch on Facebook or Twitter.
