Lunch at the Chart House – Tower of the Americas

One item on our San Antonio bucket list was eating at the Chart House restaurant, the revolving restaurant at the top of the Tower of the Americas.

I made a reservation for 1:00 and we got there in plenty of time. There was more than enough seating and I think we got an excellent table right at the window.

We asked for a gluten free menu and started with the hummus trio with plantain chips. I have to find a recipe for these chips! They tasted good and had a hint of saltiness I didn’t expect.

For my entree I had the chopped spinach salad and Scott had the regular chopped salad. It was good with plenty of bacon and dressing. We also had a glass of red wine with our meal.

For dessert, I had creme brulee. I’d never had it before, and it’s another dish I need to find a recipe for. Cheesecake was always my favorite dessert, but creme brulee has it beat!

Scott finished with an irish coffee that we shared.

The best part about the restaurant was the leisurely time we had. We weren’t rushed and we stayed for over an hour as we watched the city below us, trying to figure out what direction our house was in and what was that building with the interesting designs on it?

It was a fun birthday with great food and great company.
