How I Find Free Kindle eBooks

Ever since getting my 4th Generation Kindle a few years ago, as well as writing my own Kindle ebooks, I love the fact that I can get free Kindle books on a variety of topics. There are a couple of ways I go about doing this.

First, I do a search for a topic I’m interested in. It may be business or if I feel like fiction maybe a time travel novel. Once the search results come up, I can filter the results by price. Any ebooks that are free will be at the top of the list. If there’s a book that sounds interesting but it’s not free, I’ll add it to my wish list.

Every few days I’ll go into my wish list and sort it by price. This doesn’t always put the free ones right at the top – sometimes it’s hardcovers that are on sale – but it makes it easier to find the free books I’ve saved.

Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing Program (KDP) allows authors to put their books on sale or list them free for five days each quarter. So keep checking, because you never know when an ebook may go on sale.

Right now I have over 500 books on my Kindle reader, most likely more than I’ll be able to read. I downloaded most of them during their free periods.

As a writer who publishes on KDP, I know it’s important to support other writers as well, so I’ll also buy ebooks during the month as well. I decide which ones to buy again based on the length of time on my wish list or my interest in the topic at the time.

How many free Kindle ebooks have you downloaded? Let me know in the comments or get in touch on Facebook or Twitter.
