Putting Real Magic Into the World

Through June and July join me for Creative Life Book Club. I’ll discuss a nugget of truth from a current book I’m reading. The current book is Real Magic by Wayne Dyer (affiliate link).

It’s the last chapter! Be sure to follow along with the links below.

Week 1 – Releasing Limited Beliefs
Week 2 – Beyond Cause and Effect
Week 3 – Acting As If
Week 4 – Real Magic Within Relationships
Week 5 – Prosperity Consciousness vs Scarcity Consciousness
Week 6 – Miracles are an Inside Job
Week 7 – Prepare to Suffer or Prepare to Heal

The book wraps up with one major theme that stands out to me  – Be filled with love and give it away.

We can’t be filled with anxiety, distress, fear, and doubt and expect our lives and the world around us to be wonderful. Instead, we need to be filled with love, peace, harmony. Then we can give that away to others. We can’t give what we don’t have, so we need to refill our tanks with love so we can offer it to others.

Galatians 5:22 states the fruits of the spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. 1 Corinthians 13:13 states that these three things will last forever – faith, hope and love, and the greatest of these is love.

We have the choice in our life to be filled with love – or not. When we choose to meditate on the fruits of the spirit, when we’re faced with criticism or hatred it’s easy for us to turn the other cheek, to forgive that person. Have you ever noticed that we tend to focus on the bad instead of the good? We remember the bad – all of our hurts, our fears, our anger – but it’s easy to forget the good within our lives. What if, instead of focusing on the mistakes, the regrets, the hurt caused by someone else, we focus instead on what we’ve done right – the children we’ve raised, the company we’ve built, relationships that have been restored. These things are what’s important.

How do you fill your tank with love?

Spend time in prayer and meditation daily. Proverbs 3:6 says: In everything you do, put God first, and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.

Take care of yourself – your body and your mind. Eat healthy food, get enough sleep, exercise, spend time on a hobby you enjoy.

Talk to yourself in a positive way. How many times have we called ourselves fat, ugly or stupid? If you wouldn’t say those things to your daughter, your sister, your mom, your best friend, why say them to yourself? Do this mirror exercise daily. There will definitely be changes in how you treat yourself.

Know you are valuable and here on purpose. Remember this? Dr. Dyer talked about this in the first few chapters. Know, without any doubt, that you are loved, you are valuable and your life has a purpose. An awesome Creator God made you and placed you here, in this time and in this place, for a reason. You also know what that purpose is. Accept it, believe it, and embrace it.

These four tips are a starting point to filling yourself with love. Then you can take that love and share it with the world.
